FAQ

I'm looking for a creature and I can't find it in the shop. How can I order it?

Since I make all my creatures by hand myself, I can't have all creatures in stock all the time. I normally work on batches of creatures and list them when they are finished. I usually announce future sales on Patreon and Instagram so people can stay tuned about what will be available soon.

Some of my creatures are discontinued, though, and will never be available again.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, I ship internationally to almost everywhere, except for some places in Russia, South America and Africa.

Do you make custom dolls and preorders?

Normally I don't make customs unless they are just color variations of dolls I made in the past and normally offers.

I also make preorders from time to time, but they are exclusive to Patreon Subscribers.

What is Patreon?

[From Patreon's website] Patreon is a way to join your favorite creator's community and pay them for making the stuff you love. Instead of throwing money at your screen (trust us, that doesn't work), you can now pay creators once a month or per thing the creator makes. This means the creator gets paid regularly, and you become a bonafide, real-life patron of the arts.

What can I find on Fuego Fatuo's Patreon?

By subscribing to my patreon you will be able to see and comment what's behind the scenes. You will know about the future creature's I am working on since the very beggining, months before they are released and witness a big part of the making process. You will also be able to participate in Early Access Sales and Exclusive Preorders.

Depending on the subscription level you join, you will also be able to access sketches, illustrations and concept art of my creatures, articles about the creative process behind my creature designs, tutorials and creature sewing patterns.

What are the Early Access Sales?

Every time I finish a new batch of creatures, they are available for Patrons only for a couple days before they are listed on the shop for the general public.

Only the creatures that are not sold during the Early Acess Sale, if there is any left, make it to the general public.

Where does your inspiration to make creatures come from?

My main sources of inspiration and references are folklore and nature. Most of my creatures are my interpretations of mythological creatures from different cultures around the globe. I try to give most of my creatures a realistic and naturalistic look that makes them beliveable, so observing nature and real animals is the best source of references. Also, extinct prehistoric animals usually had amazing features that I like to consider when designing creatures!

Do you attend selling shows and markets?

I used to, but I decided to regularly stop doing it. However, I still consider attending some specialized events like Dolly Day or Witch's Market (both in Barcelona) eventually, but  in Spain. But in general the answer to this question would be no.

Do you do exhibitions?

I do them eventally, but there is none in my schedule right now.

How many people work at Fuego Fatuo?

Fuego Fatuo Art is a one-man-army. I (Álvaro) do everything. Sometimes I may have the assistance of friends or partners for really specific things, but Fuego Fatuo is basically me alone doing everything LOl
