ABOUT THE ART DOLL:

This listing is for a handmade, poseable Yogen no tori art doll. It stands about 21cm tall x 13,5cm wide and 25cm long from the tip of the beaks to the tip of the tail.

The heads, wings, tail and feet are 3D printed and painted with acrylics.

The body is hand-sewn using faux fur fabrics. This sculpture is poseable and can adopt different poses due to its inner armature made with plastic ball and socket pieces.

Due to the hand making process, the final product may differ a bit from the one in the pictures. Each creation is unique.

**Note this is not a toy but a collector’s piece of art that must be handled with care as it is delicate. A bad use of it can damage the whole piece and repairing it can be difficult.**

ABOUT YOGEN no tori (よげんのとり) IN JAPANESE FOLKLORE (extracted from Yokai.com by Matthew Meyer):

Yogen no tori are prophetic birds which resemble two-headed crows. One of their heads is white. They can speak, and are sent by the gods to deliver important messages to humanity such as warnings about epidemics.

In addition to delivering an important message, yogen no tori are such holy animals that merely an image of them is enough to keep the evil spirits which cause disease away. Regularly looking at a picture of a yogen no tori is said to protect the viewer from harm.
